The Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) is an independent scientific-technical higher Federal Authority in the portfolio of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). BfS pools competencies in the area of ionising and non-ionising radiation with the aim to protect humans and the environment against harmful radiation effects. Focus topics address risks of e.g. low dose ionising radiation, mobile communication, UV protection - Radiological emergency preparedness - Monitoring of environmental radioactivity - Medical and occupational radiation protection.

Ulrike Kulka is a biologist, leading the workgroup Biological Radiation Effects, Biological Dosimetry at the BfS location München Neuherberg since 2007. As usual you will have the possibility to get in touch with her more personally during the informal session after the talk.
