Working at the Robert Koch Institute and Beyond

Dr. Andrea Sanchini will be giving insight into his transition from a Ph.D. student at the Robert Koch Institute to a free lance writing instructor.

Andrea Sanchini will share his experience of being a researcher at the Robert Koch Institute, how it started, his Ph.D. in an international graduate school and which further opportunities for junior researchers exist. In addition, he will also talk about how and why he decided to switch careers, moving from being a researcher to becoming a self-employed trainer and coach.

Andrea Sanchini worked for 8 years at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin. He was involved in several projects in the field of microbiology and infectious diseases, always from a public health perspective. There, he also completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. Since 2019, he has switched his career and he now teaches scientific writing and publishing skills to Ph.D. candidates and junior researchers.

The career talk will be moderated by the Career Center and participants will also be able to ask questions.
